We have always wanted to have place in the country. But also, the city. And the mountains, and the beach and the lake and .....

The Hubs retired from the US Air Force and we had a choice to make - city mouse or country mouse. We chose country mouse. For three years we lived in his home state, close to our wonderful family, and excited about starting our homestead. In that time, our children were embarking on their own journeys. My parents had moved to NC and we were planning on staying put. Then my daughter moved to Charlotte. Then she started talking my son into moving there too. And my parents were near there. And there was a beautiful city. We made the decision to move to Charlotte, right into the heart of the city. Now we were city mice.

We have lived in Charlotte for three years. It took two to realize that we were not fulfilled with the city lifestyle. We wanted to see the mountains, and hear the quiet. I wanted to grow things. He wanted to build things. All of our hobbies and interests were in storage. We were surviving but not thriving.

When COVID hit, we were very fortunate not to be affected - job wise. We were determined to get out of the city as quickly as possible, but knew it would take a year of planning and looking and getting our acts together.

That was August 2021. One year later we are doing it. We have purchased Our Dream Farm, I have started putting plants in the ground, and we will be living out here full time, in the next 30 days or so. Blessing abound. We are excited to start our journey! Hope you'll come along!
