Stuff I hate, but do anyways.

You know what’s worse than painting a room? Nope? Me either! I hate hate hate painting rooms. It’s always a mess, I’m always a mess, and it’s exhausting. I should have just hired someone to do it.

I’m in the process of moving my craft room into one of the main floor bedrooms. It was my son and DIL’s room, but I am moving my craft room into that room, and their bedroom downstairs.

I’m not going to fib…I painted the first coat on the walls about three weeks ago. It’s taken me this long to get motivated to put on the second coat. That’s how much I dislike it.

I’m very excited about getting back to sewing in my designated room. Right now I just have a pile of sewing projects pushed between my chair and end table in the living room. There’s no shame in it! Haha.

Of course, in true painting fashion, I ran out of paint with one and a half walls left to get painted with a second coat. Then I realized that my paintbrush was left with dried paint on it. I was initially going to finish the next day (after I started), so I just covered the paint pan, brush and roller with a plastic bag. Of course, even the plastic bag is no help after a week or two. Oy!

I ran to Lowes and grabbed another can of paint, but failed to get another brush. I made do, but I’m currently refusing to clean the rollers and pan. I’m going to toss them. I know it’s wasteful. I know it’s a terrible addition to the landfill. I know it makes me seem lazy and not very resourceful, but I don’t care. That’s how much I hate it.

There are things that we all must compromise about. This is one of mine. Now, there is a chance that Jason will clean them when he gets home from work, because he will NOT agree with me about throwing them away, but they may be too far gone (dried paint) to salvage anyway.

Tomorrow I will probably get the bed frame out of the room (it’s the only furniture left in there), and clean out the closet. Then I will begin loading in my craft room items. With a bit of luck, it will be ready to be sewn in by Friday.

My daughter asked me to teach her to sew, and I want to get everything set up so I can teach her. It’s a blessing that she’s interested and asked me to teach her.

What do you HATE to do around the house? What is your solution?

Hope you have an amazing day!
