Death of an AC unit.
While away for the weekend, our AC unit died. Services will be later today - since I am melting and a little annoyed with it.
When you are trying to be self sufficient, you google everything you can find about repairing your own AC unit. We have come to the conclusion that some things should be left to the professionals. As much as we'd like to fix it ourselves, we have neither the equipment nor the "know how" to do it at this time.
Next steps - figure out a way to stay cool, while NOT using an air conditioner. We purchased a house with an attic fan - which we CAN repair. Jason will be squaring that away, hopefully this evening. Thank goodness for that option!
There are a lot of ways to stay cool, without A/C - What are some of the ways you can think of? We are open to all suggestions at this point.
The A/C repair person should be here one day this week. Just no guarantee of when.
We slept with the windows open and the fans on. Closed the curtains and windows when it started getting warmer this morning and if it continues with record breaking heat, we may need to build one of these bad boys - Awesome Air Conditioner DIY!
In the meantime, we are working on unpacking and planning for next year.
